Empowering Youth & Strengthening Human Resources through Skills, Employment & Capacity Building
Social Action for Rural Development (SARDA) actively promotes youth skill development and employability enhancement through structured training and capacity-building initiatives. Under the Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM), SARDA implements the Kushal Yuva Program (KYP) through its Bihar Skill Development Centre (BSDC), equipping rural youth with essential skills for employment and entrepreneurship.
The KYP program focuses on soft skills, communication, digital literacy, and basic IT competencies, enabling youth to become confident, job-ready, and adaptable to evolving workplace demands. SARDA’s BSDC centres provide a conducive learning environment with trained faculty, modern infrastructure, and practical-oriented training modules.
With the support of the BSDM Scheme of the Government of Bihar, SARDA has made a significant impact in Jamui District, where:
- More than 2,000 youth have been trained and skilled

Over 700 youth have been successfully placed in local and outstation companies
- More than 200 youth have started their own shops and small businesses, promoting local entrepreneurship
In addition to KYP, SARDA also conducts agriculture and livelihood-related skill training programs through its Skill Training Centres, supporting rural youth and farmers in areas such as modern agriculture practices, allied activities, and enterprise development.
SARDA further organizes various training, orientation, and capacity-building programmes for its employees and field teams on a regular basis, based on organizational and project needs. These initiatives ensure continuous skill enhancement, institutional strengthening, and effective implementation of development programs.
The organization also integrates skill development with broader livelihood initiatives under programs such as LEDP (Livelihood and Enterprise Development Programme), FSPF, and community-based interventions, creating pathways for self-employment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable income generation.
SARDA collaborates with government departments, local institutions, and industry stakeholders to enhance placement opportunities and ensure strong linkage between training and employment outcomes.
By focusing on skills, employability, and entrepreneurship, SARDA is empowering rural youth to become economically independent, socially confident, and active contributors to local and regional development.
