Women's Empowerment

Promoting Gender-Inclusive Development and Livelihoods

Social Action for Rural Development (SARDA) places strong emphasis on women’s empowerment and gender-inclusive rural development by promoting women’s participation in economic, social, and institutional processes. The organization works with women from rural and tribal communities to enhance their financial independence, leadership capacity, and decision-making roles.

SARDA facilitates the formation and strengthening of Self Help Groups (SHGs), women-led livelihood groups, and women-led Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) under initiatives such as CBBO-CSS, PODF-ID, FSPF, LEDP, and Krishak Pathshala. These platforms enable women to engage in income-generating activities, micro-enterprises, agriculture, and allied sectors.

Through capacity building, financial literacy, entrepreneurship development, and skill training programs, SARDA supports women in accessing credit, government schemes, and market opportunities. The organization also promotes women’s involvement in natural resource management, climate-resilient agriculture, and community institutions.

By strengthening women-led institutions and promoting inclusive participation, SARDA contributes to improved household incomes, social empowerment, and sustainable rural livelihoods.
